J-MDS: jointly learning multimedia data security

Organised by the University of Trento and University of Innsbruck

Versione stampabile

On January 20, the final event of the teaching project “J-MDS: jointly learning multimedia data security” took place in Trento at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science.

The initiative, supported by the EUREGIO Mobility Fund 2019 and the BIT School, has been jointly organised by the Security and Privacy Lab of the University of Innsbruck and the Multimedia Signal Processing and Understanding Lab of the University of Trento.

More than 90 master students from both universities were involved, which have attended the Multimedia Security master courses offered in Innsbruck and Trento by the teaching staff (Prof. Rainer Böhme and Dr. Cecilia Pasquini at UIBK, Prof. Giulia Boato and Mag. Federica Lago at UNITN). After a set of common lectures and practical training sessions on multimedia security problems, students engaged in a team-based competition, where they have faced the practical challenge of developing their own image forensics detector.

After the presentation and technical evaluation of the methodologies developed by the different groups, the winning teams have been announced during the final event in Trento. A team from our University was awarded with the second place prize.
