UniTrento team made up of students Alessio Valenza, Carlo Ramponi, Emanuele Civini, Matteo Golinelli, Damiano Melotti e Davide Guidolin reached the final of the Cyberchallenge.IT competition, the Italian Cybersecurity training program, which identifies the young talents of IT Cybersecurity.

The competition, now in its fourth edition and organized by the National CyberSecurity Laboratory of Cini (National Interuniversity Consortium for Computer Science), began last January with the participation of 130 high school and university students, aged between 16 and 23 throughout Trentino.

The final, which took place on 1 and 2 October, for the first time in online mode, had the participation of 28 teams from universities throughout Italy. The ethical hackers faced off in a CTF (Capture the Flag) competition, during which they demonstrated all their skills in the fields of cryptography, network security and hardware and software infrastructure.

"It is the first time that Trento has participated in this competition" commented Bruno Crispo, full professor at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science and Coordinator of the initiative in Trento, "but despite all difficulties related to going online with the training lessons we managed to complete the competition with a solid team that made an exhilarating impression in the Final”.

"I am also very satisfied to take on this challenge to join the final of the CyberChallengeIT 2020, which involved more than 20 students, some coming from high schools. We have created an opportunity to let very young students know the activities related to Cybersecurity and the many job opportunities. related to it "Experienced the challenge success, I am going to participate in next year's edition".

Stay tuned for the next edition!
