CINI (National Interuniversity Consortium for Computer Science) has appointed Nicu Sebe, full professor at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, new member of the management committee of the national laboratory for AIIS (Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems).
The aim of the AIIS laboratory is to create the foundations for an effective Italian ecosystem of artificial intelligence, aimed at highlighting Italian excellence to strengthen national research in all fields of AI and Intelligent Systems.
The management committee is composed of a number of prominent Italian scientists covering several aspects of Artificial Intelligence.
Prof. Sebe will be in charge of the relationship with ACM SIGMM, the Special Interest Group on Multimedia of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) of which he is currently the vice-chair.
"This appointment" says the Director of DISI Paolo Giorgini "confirms the excellence of DISI in the field of Artificial Intelligence and the leading role of the Department at the national level".
