First National PhD in Artificial Intelligence

Deadline for applications 23 July 2021

Versione stampabile

For the first time in Italy, the call for admissions to the National PhD in Artificial Intelligence (PhD-AI.it) is open. This project, strongly promoted by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), is made of 5 national doctoral programs that share a common basis in the foundations and developments of AI.

Each program has an area of specialisation in a strategic sector of AI application. The University of Trento participates through the DISI Department in the area AI for Society, thanks to the co-financing of four scholarships: three for the 37th cycle which will start in the academic year 2021/2022, and one for the 38th cycle. This is the maximum possible co-financing within the national doctorate.

The co-financed scholarships for the academic year 2021/2022 concern 3 specific themes:

  • Human-cognition aware explainable AI (scientific coordinator prof. Andrea Passerini)
  • Deep learning models for multi-modal human behaviour analysis and synthesis (scientific coordinator prof. Nicu Sebe)
  • Social robotics for elderly assistance (scientific coordinator prof. Elisa Ricci)

Registrations are open until 23 July at 1 pm. To register, candidates must apply online by connecting to the website of the University of Pisa which is the administrative headquarters of the doctorate.

For more information on the call for applications, scholarships and the AI for Society area, candidates are invited to visit the Department website at the dedicated webpage: National PhD in Artificial Intelligence.
