Visiting chair from collège de France to University of Trento

On October 10 and 11 at 4 p.m., at the Department of Humanities, in the framework of the bilateral agreement between the University of Trento and the College de France , professor Roger Chartier, will be held two conferences: "From Book to Literature, Literary Criticism, Sociology of Practices and Cultural History" and "Shakespeare and Cervantes: Encounters"

Professor. Chartier, formerly director of studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and now professor emeritus of the same College,  teaches Modern History, and in particular the history of culture. He is one of the world's leading specialists of the historical thinking regarding the texts and their production and reception. He directed the volume "From the Renaissance to the Enlightenment" of the History of Private Life directed by Aries and Duby and (together with Guglielmo Cavallo) the "History of reading in the Western world" published by Laterza.
