New Plan for Positive Action approved at UniTrento

Inclusion and the enhancement of diversity are the cornerstones of the Plan, in line with the UN 2030 agenda

Versione stampabile

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the 2022-2024 Plan for Positive Action of the University of Trento is formally approved. The plan had already received the positive opinion of the Committee for equal opportunities, well-being at work and against discrimination (CUG) and the Academic Senate, but today it was finally adopted by the Board of Directors of the University.

The Plan, written by the Committee for equal opportunities together with the Equality and Diversity Office, introduces some innovative aspects concerning the drafting process and the content. In particular, it takes into account several sustainable development goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, from Gender equality to Reduced inequalities.

The University of Trento, that values among its core objectives the protection of equal opportunities, is committed to promote inclusion and to enhance differences and to take action to identify, prevent and eradicate any discrimination based on sex, gender, language, ethnic origin, religion, belief, disability, age and sexual orientation. As explained in the preface, the purpose of the Plan for Positive Action is to help achieve these objectives.

The Plan has been drafted taking into account the 2021 Gender budget and the Gender Equality Plan 2022-2024, and is consistent with the Strategic plan 2022-2017.

The first part of the plan describes the University community — made up of students, academics, and staff — in a gender perspective, and makes an overview of various key roles in the area of gender equality. In the second part, the authors present the strategies and objectives of the Plan for the three year term, and a methodological note. The third part lists the seven areas of intervention: gender equality; organizational well-being, health and safety; reconciliation of work and family life; inclusion, disability, and special needs; ethnic, cultural and linguistic origins, religious beliefs, academic freedom; sexual orientation and gender identity; different generations at work. A list of relevant rules and regulations is provided in the final part of the document.
