The Italian Football Federation (FIGC - Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio) has received the UEFA “Creativity and Innovation award” for the First Hackathon on Italian Football – An innovation marathon organized in October 2017 in Trento.

The participants presented concrete proposals in two areas that are very important for the Federation: improving the match analysis instrument and enhancing membership in the FIGC.

The Hackathon was supported by a collaboration between the University of Trento, the Autonomous Province of Trento, Trentino Sviluppo and EIT Digital (the European Institute of Innovation and Technology).

A panel of experts examined the 106 projects submitted by 44 national associations (out of the 55 Federations that are represented in the UEFA). The aim of the UEFA GROW Awards is to reward and endorse the initiatives and successes of the UEFA member national associations, while also communicating best-practice models from around Europe.
