Abstract:
Origin of Life on Earth is one of the greatest mysteries that continues to engage all scientific disciplines. Specifically, understanding how prebiotic chemistry gives rise to the emergence of biological pathways is a continuing challenge. The lecture will deal with results from our research that challenges some of the assumptions and models derived from extant biological paradigms, which in turn prompt us to reevaluate our approach of using prebiotic chemistry to understand the origins of life.
