The University of Trento strengthens its relationship with the Chinese Jilin University, a long-time partner in various international projects.

Collaboration, which started in 2006, led to many joint initiatives in teaching and research over the years. The new bilateral agreement was signed yesterday at Palazzo Sardagna by Maurizio Marchese (prorector for international development at the University of Trento) and Weitao Zheng (vice president of Jilin University).

The goal of the agreement, which has a 5-year duration and can be renewed, is to encourage cooperation between the two universities in culture, teaching and science.

In particular, the partnership will stimulate exchanges of students, PhD students, teaching, administrative and technical staff, as well as the development of common initiatives in education and training.

The agreement will involve all the departments and centres of the University starting from the departments of Information Engineering and Computer Science, Industrial Engineering and Mathematics.

A delegation of Jilin University visited the University of Trento on the occasion of the signing of the agreement. The visit provided the opportunity to consolidate the collaboration and to discuss future projects, like joint workshops, double degree master's programmes, doctoral theses, especially in the area of ICT, Economics and Management and Industrial Engineering, and the establishment of a joint research centre on artificial intelligence.
