International Summer School in Italian Language and Culture

Location: UniTrento Department of Humanities, via Tomaso Gar, 14 - Trento. 

Thanks to its rich history and strategic position, Trento offers a unique gateway into Italian culture. Our Trento summer school in Italian Language and Culture, organized by the Department of Humanities, provides a two-week full immersion in Italian literature, language, history, archaeology, art, music, and cinema.

Combining lectures, seminars, conversations, urban itineraries, cultural trips and outdoor activities, the programme welcomes international students from a variety of disciplinary fields who seek to enrich their academic curriculum and personal growth.

Participants are encouraged to develop their cultural knowledge, heighten their cultural awareness, and constantly question widespread cultural stereotypes upon Italy and the Italian culture.

Extra activities: Archaeology and Art urban field trips run by University Professors, visits to MUSE and MART museums, Feste Vigiliane cultural experience, water-sport activities. Visit to Verona.

Participants’ background

Admissions reserved to up to 25 senior Undergraduate and Graduate international students. A multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary background is welcome, as well as some knowledge of Italian language, literature and culture. 
A minimum B2 level of English is required.
Students coming from partner universities are selected and nominated by partner universities.
External students are selected by UniTrento.

Deadlines

Nominations by partner Universities: by 15 March 2019.
Students from partner universities and external students are asked to finalize the on line application by 31 March 2019 and to upload a CV and a motivation letter.
The School will be activated with a minimum number of 10 participants.
