Following the success of the first edition, the BIO Facility Day 2018 will focus on the key role of Core Facilities in modern life sciences and translational research, as well as on potential collaboration opportunities between academic research and industries.
The event is open to scientists and facility staff from academia, industries and clinics. Attendees will be inspired by recent technological and scientific advances and have the opportunity to gain knowledge on implementing methodologies in order to support future discoveries.
Participation and registration
Registration is free (deadline February 10, 2018) however mandatory due to the limited number of places available.
Keynote lectures
Josephine Lannigan (ISAC Lecturer), director of the Flow Cytometry Core Facility of Virginia University School of Medicine, will give an overview of the role of core facilities in modern life sciences and in facing the challenges arising from new technologies. Dr Lannigan is a leader in the emerging field of Extracellular Vesicles.
Achim Treumann, Director of the Newcastle University Protein and Proteome Analysis (NUPPA), will illustrate the Core Facilities system at the Newcastle University and talk about his long lasting experience in protein analysis and production.
