Local people, global governance: how do local communities get heard in multilateral environmental agreements?

The knowledge of local communities is crucial to environmental protection, and this has been recognised at the global level along with the importance of their participation. But how does this happen? Do local voices have real impacts? The seminar will explore the example of indigenous peoples and local communities and their participation in the Convention on Biological Diversity.
