The impact of Technology on Financial Markets

Simona Abis is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Leeds School of Business.

Before joining the University of Colorado Boulder, she was an Assistant Professor of Finance at Columbia University. Professor Abis received her PhD in Finance from INSEAD, Singapore/Fontainebleau. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a quantitative researcher for a systematic hedge fund.

Professor Abis’s research interests include asset management, technological adoption, information economics, privacy, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and asset pricing.

Overall, Professor Abis is interested in the impact of technology on financial markets. Her current research focuses particularly on the impact of technological change and privacy policies on investment management and the value of data.
