Abstract

The solution of the Boundary Value Problem (BVP)

is often challenging by using general purpose software, specially in case of nonlinear problems or when the solution exhibit fast variation. In this talk a comparison of some MATLAB codes (bvptwp, tom, bvp4c, bvp5c) is done. The objective is to show the capability of different strategies of mesh selection and nonlinear system solver applied to singular perturbation and optimal control problems.

Biography

Associate professor with national scientific qualification for full professor in the field of Numerical Analysis. She work in the field of stability of parallel and sequential numerical algorithms of linear algebra, linear systems of large dimension, numerical methods for ordinary and differential algebraic equations (ODEs, DAEs), with both initial and boundary conditions,  and applications to the numerical solutions of partial differential equations. She developed many software in R, MATLAB and FORTRAN language for the solution of BVPs and DAEs.
