Peter Kroll is Full Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemisty at The University of Texas at Arlington. He obtained his PhD in 1996 at the Dpt. of Materials Science, TU Darmstadt.

His research interests includes:

  1. glasses and amorphous ceramics;
  2. nitride glasses and silicon nitride based ceramics;
  3. high pressure chemistry, especially prediction of new nitride compounds at high pressure;
  4. synthesis of Si-C-O (aerogels and fibers) and characterization of pore architecture.

He is the author of more than 80 papers and is a frequent speaker at international conferences.
