Cardiac pump function arises from a series of highly orchestrated events across multiple scales. When a patient attends a hospital visit, their symptoms are assessed through a series of biomarkers. However, in a clinical setting, it is difficult to understand which mechanisms’ malfunction are causing the patient’s clinical presentation. Computational electromechanics can encode these events in physics-constrained models and can help mapping multi-sale processes to whole-organ biomarkers. In this presentation, I will show how we can use computational modelling in combination with machine learning to link molecular to whole-organ function. I will also showcase how in-silico clinical trials can help providing a mechanistic explanation to improved response to pacing, and to investigate how different conduction disturbances affect response to conduction system pacing, a novel delivery method for cardiac resynchronisation.
