Abstract:

In this talk I will discuss a class of second order PDEs of Hörmander type modelled on the Kolmogorov operator. In the first part, I will present some regularity estimates for solutions to nondivergence form equations with rough coefficients. In particular, I will show invariant Harnack inequalities for the case of coefficients satisfying either a Cordes-Landis assumption or a continuity hypothesis. In the second part of the talk, I will focus on "constant coefficients" operators and on a recent approach to a Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev theory. Such approach is based on a fractional calculus via non-symmetric and nondoubling semigroups. This talk is mainly based on two joint projects respectively with F. Abedin and N.
Garofalo.
