Mathematical aspects of quantum theories

Abstract:
Within this talk I would like to review  my past and current research activity concerning mathematical aspects of quantum theories.
I will try to present a general picture also for a non-expert audience discussing more the involved mathematical notions than the physical ideas. I will especially focus on quantum mechanics, described with the proper  mathematical language of spectral theory, (von Neumann) algebras and related lattices also in quaternionic Hilbert spaces,  and algebraic quantum field theory in curved Lorentzian manifolds described in  the appropriate framework of nets  of C*-algebras in globally hyperbolic Lorentzian manifolds and taking advantage of some microlocal analysis tools.
