Doc in Progress

Online cycle of events

29 October - 17 December 2020
Versione stampabile

The cycle “Doc in Progress” consists of a series of meetings with dissemination purposes.
The speakers are chosen from among currently PhD students, as the name suggests, in Mathematics or related fields. The main aim of the project is the creations of the chance to meet other PhD students in order to offer opportunities for dialogue and possible future collaborations.

To participate in the events, please contact sara.sottile [at] unitn.it (subject: Doc%20in%20Progress) (Sara Sottile) using an institutional e-mail address

Future Events

Asymptotic equivalence of two strict deformation quantizations and applications to the classical limit

Christiaan Van De Ven, PhD Student in Mathematics, University of Trento
Date: November 26, 2020 at 4.00 p.m.
Venue: Online event

Abstract
The concept of strict deformation quantization provides a
mathematical formalism that describes the transition from a classical theory to a quantum theory in terms of deformations of (commutative) Poisson algebras (representing the classical theory) into non-commutative C˚-algebras (characterizing the quantum theory). In this seminar we introduce the definitions, give several examples and provide applications regarding the classical limit of a quantum (spin) system.

Symmetrizations on smooth and singular spaces

Mattia Vedovato, PhD Student in Mathematics, University of Trento

Venue: Blended event

  • Aula Seminari -1, PovoZero: 16 places available onsite
  • online

To participate in the event, please contact sara.sottile [at] unitn.it (subject: Doc%20in%20Progress) (Sara Sottile) using an institutional e-mail address and specifying if you want to take part in the event onsite or online.
