Abstract:

In the rapidly evolving landscape of international security, the convergence of cyber-warfare, autonomous weapons and artificial intelligence (AI) presents unprecedented challenges. Cyber-warfare has become a strategic tool for state and
non-state actors, while Information-warfare can manipulate target’s perceptions, emotions and behaviors.

AI vulnerabilities, including the risk of adversarial attacks, further complicate the security environment. Autonomous weapons, while offering tactical advantages, raise ethical and operational concerns, particularly regarding accountability and the potential for unintended escalation.

This broad domain is naturally not exempt from the typical problems of computer security in the strict sense. This seminar aims to explore these emerging threats and the role of the United Nations in addressing them.
