Abstract:
During the last decades, many variational tools were introduced and used to find new efficient way to solve linear elliptic problems involving PDEs.
In this talk, I will  introduce the well known notions of the Murat-Tartar H-convergence for non-symmetric linear elliptic operators and the notion of the De Giorgi Γ-convergence for functionals, taking into account the connections between these two variational tools, as studied in a recent work of Ansini, Dal Maso and Zeppieri. In particular, I will focus on the technique the authors used to prove the main result of their work.

After the first year, PhD students of the course in "Advanced calculus of variations" (Prof. Andrea Pinamonti - Uni Trento) are requested to held a seminar as final examination.
