Abstract

I characterized the role of Negr1, a novel IglON family adhesion protein, in neuronal development. More in the specific using biochemistry, microscopy and in utero electroporation techniques I demonstrated that the misregulation of Negr1 impairs both neuronal morphology and neuronal migration during brain development, leading to connectivity defects observed in neuropsychiatric diseases such as Autism.
