Giovanna Rech, Today's devotional tattoo of Loreto, between memory and cultural heritage/ Il tatuaggio devozionale di Loreto, oggi, fra memoria e patrimonio culturale

A few years ago, a tattooer recovered the practice of devotional tattoos in the pilgrimage town of Loreto. This talk will discuss the sacred tattoos of Loreto between the recovery of a 'chain of memory' and the practices of heritage-making from a tangible and intangible point of view.

Tiziana Faitini, Professional images. The "Liberal Profession" between ethics, memory and self-authentication / Immagini di professionalità. Le "professioni liberali" tra etica, memoria e autoautenticazione

The talk will focus on the self-authenticating discourses, and uses of memory, set forth within professional groups, by drawing some examples from the medieval and early-modern texts on legal and medical professions, and their rhetoric of the honorarium.

Giovanna Rech is a post-doc at the University of Verona and collaborator at the Department of Sociology and Social Research in Trento. She is a sociologist of religion, with a particular interest in the social use of cultural heritage and issues of spiritual, cultural and religious mobility.

Tiziana Faitini is Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities in Trento. She is a political philosopher interested in the entanglement between politics, ethics and economics in the history of thought, with a special focus on the philosophy of work.
