METHODOLOGICAL WEBINAR: Teaching Sustainability through Challenge-Based Learning
Abstract
This webinar focuses on the innovative use of Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) to address critical environmental justice issues. This educational approach empowers participants to identify, analyze, and develop actionable solutions for real-world challenges. We will explore possible challenges on topics such as sustainable food production, reducing pesticide pollution, minimizing food waste, promoting sustainable waste management in disadvantaged communities, ensuring equitable access to clean water, and addressing the disproportionate impacts of climate change on marginalized populations. Through interactive sessions and expert insights, we will discover how CBL fosters collaborative problem-solving, critical thinking, and the development of sustainable behaviors. The objective is to offer valuable strategies and examples of how CBL can drive positive change and promote environmental justice. Additionally, participants will learn how to implement CBL effectively and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
