Phillip Matias is a career member of the United States Foreign Service currently serving as Vice Consul at U.S. Consulate General Milan.  His responsibilities include managing the issuance of non-immigrant visas, aiding U.S. citizens in Italy, and serving as the Consulate’s fraud prevention manager.  Prior to this assignment, Phillip served as Third Secretary at U.S. Embassy Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he oversaw the Embassy’s housing, travel, and other logistics.  Phillip also spent several years working in the private sector as a management consultant and holds a Six Sigma black belt in process improvement.  He is joined in Italy by his wife, Farzana Zulhash.
