- Emmanuele Pavolini, University of Macerata
Emmanuele Pavolini is Full Professor in Economic Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Macerata. He received his Ph.D. in Economic Sociology from Brescia University in 2000. His research focuses on two fields: a) comparative welfare state studies, with a special focus on the Italian welfare state in comparative perspective; Southern European welfare states; specific social policies; inequalities in the access to welfare state provision; occupational welfare; welfare mix and third sector organizations; b) labour market research and economic development, with a special focus on the changing roles of professionals; networks among enterprises and strategies for competitiveness; the role of migrants in the labour market. He is a Member of the board of ESPAnet (European Social Policy Network) and co-chair of the board of Italian ESPAnet. He is a National Expert for Italy of the European Commission Expert Network ESPN (European Social Policy Network)
