Anastasiia Pleshakova presents the historical background of professional ethic in Russia. She connects the raise of professional ethic with the forming of a moral culture in the Russian society. Anastasiia analyzes the phenomenon of professional culture, giving a description of its main features and comparing it with the main features of the moral culture in society. The typology of moral cultures of modern Russian society is taken from the work of Aza Frantz. Its four main types (traditional, pragmatic, hedonistic, and nihilistic culture) are discussed.

Anastasiia Pleshakova is a visiting research scholar under the Erasmus Mundus programme MULTIC, coordinated by TUD, Technische Universität Dresden.
