Have you ever thought how important is glass in your everyday life or in the modern world? From the screen of your cell-phone to the windshield of your car, from the optical fibers which allow superfast internet connections to the glass you use to taste good wine. Welcome to the Glass Age!
The General Assembly of the United Nations has proclaimed 2022 as the International Year of Glass!
Many research activities have been carried out in the last decades in Trento where also several workshops and congresses have been organized, attracting scientists from all around the world.
To celebrate the International Year of Glass a series of lectures will be organized between March and May 2022. The lectures will be given by renowned researchers, scientists and experts who will point out the importance of glass in modern technologies and society.
The lectures, mostly given in English and through the Zoom® platform, are included in the course of Glass Engineering for the Master in Materials Engineering; they are primarily addressed to University’s students but could be attended by anyone interested in the Glass Age!
