In the framework of the IPEPS project, which sees the collaboration between CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) in Brussels and the School of International Studies of the University of Trento (among other European Universities), we are pleased to open the Call for the Applicants to the
CEPS-IPEPS Summer School "INTRODUCTION to EU GOVERNANCE"
With a pool of teaching staff drawn from the think tank community, academia, policy-makers and practitioners from the private sector, the IPEPS Summer School will provide students with a unique experience in the capital of Europe of direct contact and networking with different professional figures they are bound to encounter in their future professional lives and that academia alone cannot offer.
The main topics of the summer school are:
- the financial governance and its pillars
- the fiscal governance and monetary policy.
The course will analyse each of the topics from a policy perspective and focus on the decision-making process, the rationales, the institutional design, the enforcement of EU rules and how the latter have changed after crisis as well as the challenges ahead.
The summer school combines frontal lectures with seminars led by policy-makers and international experts, simulation exercises and discussion groups. The purpose is to help participants to understand how decisions are taken at the EU level and the practical implications for the economy and the financial system.
Master students interested in participating in the Summer School are encouraged to apply and provide a short statement of motivation, an updated CV and a transcript of records. Please refer to the official call for applications for more details. Selected students participation is free of charge, yet students must cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
Applications
Applications are due by June 10th. Admissions decisions will be reached by June 30th, at which time all applicants will be informed by e-mail whether their application has been accepted.
