Lo European Network of Academic Sports Services (ENAS) è un’associazione non governativa di cui fanno parte gli uffici di strategie sportive di 126 università europee. L’obiettivo di questa collaborazione è quello di promuovere lo sport all’interno degli istituti di istruzione superiore del vecchio continente.
L’evento principale che corona il lavoro dell’associazione è l’ENAS Forum & Assembly, che si svolge ogni anno con una location e un tema differenti.
Elisabetta Nones, membro del Comitato esecutivo di ENAS e coordinatrice locale dell’evento, commenta onorata: “Siamo orgogliosi di ospitare la 22esima edizione del Forum ENAS. Innanzitutto perché è per la prima volta che si tiene in Italia e siamo felici sia proprio l’Università di Trento ad assumere questo ruolo pionieristico. Poi, indubbiamente, riteniamo notevole l’ambito attorno al quale verterà il dibattito del Forum 2019: il tema della Digital innovation in University and College Sport è infatti molto rilevante, oltre che controverso, data la sua centralità nella società odierna.”
Le attività a cui i delegati delle università europee parteciperanno saranno organizzate in due diversi momenti.
Il pre-forum, che occuperà le giornate del 4 e 5 novembre, vedrà i partecipanti in visita alle varie sedi sportive universitarie, quali i centri sportivi di Mattarello e Sanbapolis.
Il 6 e 7 novembre si articolerà, invece, il Forum vero e proprio con tre sessioni di conferenze; gli argomenti affrontati saranno Digitalisation in Management, Employability e E-sports and Gamification.
I diversi momenti di dibattito saranno caratterizzati dalla partecipazione di numerosi speaker internazionali, tra i quali: Andreas Hebbel-Seeger, docente di Management dei Media e direttore della Scuola dei Media presso la Macromedia University di Amburgo; Markus Breuer, professore di economia aziendale e gestione dello sport presso la SRH University di Heidelberg; Koen Schobbers, che esporrà la sua esperienza come studente universitario e professionista di e-sports, avendo da sempre combinato i suoi studi in medicina con una carriera nel mondo del gaming.
Lungo tutto il corso del Forum saranno vari i momenti sia di attività fisica che di competizione: oltre agli active breaks, saranno infatti organizzati anche una caccia al tesoro per le vie della città (in occasione della Asbjørn Cup) e vari workout mattutini.
Grazie alla collaborazione con la Corale dell’Università di Trento, fra le attività collaterali previste per gli ospiti ci sarà la possibilità di cimentarsi in un esperimento canoro in cui i partecipanti avranno la possibilità, accompagnati dal direttore Marco Gozzi, di affinare le proprie abilità musicali nella preparazione del brano “Le Dolomiti”.
Lo svolgimento dell’evento sarà garantito dal ruolo chiave che avranno studentesse e studenti volontari. UniTrento Sport ha infatti dato il via a un progetto ad essi dedicato, che permetterà loro di offrire la propria collaborazione nelle varie situazioni che si presenteranno durante il Forum: coadiuveranno gli allenatori durante i workout, accoglieranno i partecipanti e li accompagneranno nella visita guidata alla città e nella caccia al tesoro, forniranno indicazioni e favoriranno un perfetto funzionamento delle varie sessioni di lavoro.
Ermanna Marchetti, responsabile eventi e referente del Centro Universitario Sportivo (CUS), si esprime soddisfatta sulla questione: “La ragione per cui sono così entusiasta di essere promotrice di questo progetto risiede nel fatto che guardo anche in una prospettiva più ampia: questi volontari infatti potranno rivelarsi una preziosa risorsa non solo nel contesto del Forum ENAS, ma anche in una serie di altre attività future organizzate e gestite in sinergia dal CUS e dall’Università.”
Il Forum si concluderà il 7 novembre con una cena di gala; successivamente avranno luogo una lotteria e un’asta di beneficenza. Entrambi questi momenti sono considerati molto importanti dai membri dell’associazione, dato il loro spessore a livello sociale. Il ricavato verrà infatti donato alla Fondazione Famiglia Materna, organizzazione italiana no-profit, che da cento anni crede che le “persone siano più importanti dei loro problemi”, per questo è fondamentale il sostegno che la fondazione offre in situazioni di necessità primarie, come l’accoglienza di donne e bambini in situazioni di bisogno.
Le università consociate ENAS, ritengono che lo sport sia una parte integrante della vita universitaria e investono su questo fronte; riconoscono anche l’importanza di accettare le sfide che toccano la società con l’avanzare della nuova era.
L’obiettivo centrale del convegno, perciò, è quello di intavolare e portare avanti una discussione attorno al tema della digitalizzazione: ad oggi questo processo interessa vari campi della vita di ciascun individuo, compreso quello sportivo. La digitalizzazione, infatti, tocca il campo dell'attività fisica e dello sport con modalità e impatti distinti nelle diverse macro aree: gestione-organizzazione, monitoraggio e automonitoraggio, gamification e e-sports, comunicazione e occupabilità.
Ed è proprio su questi aspetti che il Forum si concentrerà.
“Portare il Forum ENAS a Trento vuol dire aprire lo sport universitario a una dimensione europea, poterci confrontare con quanto si fa negli Atenei di altri Paesi e - perché no - imparare da loro e trarre ispirazione per nuovi progetti e nuove iniziative.” Ha sottolineato il delegato per lo Sport di Ateneo professor Paolo Bouquet, che ha aggiunto: “Sono felice che sia Trento la prima Università italiana a ospitare il Forum dell'ENAS e desidero ringraziare Elisabetta Nones e tutto il team che lavora con lei per questo importante risultato. Questo conferma, ancora una volta, il lavoro pionieristico che da anni il nostro Ateneo sta facendo perché lo sport nelle Università non sia solo un (utile) passatempo, ma un fattore strategico di collaborazione con il territorio, di sviluppo di competenze trasversali, di acquisizione di nuovi progetti transdisciplinari, di miglioramento dell'occupabilità dei nostri laureati e di stimolo a nuova imprenditorialità.”

Trento to host the 22nd Forum of ENAS, the sport network including 126 European universities

The European Network of Academic Sports Services, ENAS, is a non-governmental organization comprising the higher education sports offices of 126 European universities. The purpose of this alliance is to promote sport and physical activity in higher education institutions all around Europe.
The main event that ENAS organizes to celebrate its work is its Forum & Assembly, which takes place every year in a different location with a different theme.
Elisabetta Nones, member of ENAS's Executive committee and local coordinator of the event, gave this comment: “We are proud to host the 22nd edition of the ENAS Forum. Most of all, because it is the first time that it takes place in Italy, and we are happy that the University of Trento breaks new ground. But we also find that the 2019 Forum, titled Digital innovation in University and College Sport, will ambitiously revolve around a series of current and interesting themes, which may also attract criticism".
The activities that have been planned for the representatives of member universities from all over Europe will take place in two stages. During the Pre-Forum, on 4 and 5 November, the participants will visit some of the University's sport facilities, in particular the Mattarello complex and Sanbapolis. The Forum & Assembly conferences will take place on 6 and 7 November, with three sessions focusing on different themes: Digitalisation in Management, Employability, and E-sports and Gamification.
Many international speakers will take the stage during the various sessions, including, among others: Andreas Hebbel-Seeger, professor of Media management and director of the Media School of the Macromedia University in Hamburg; Markus Breuer, professor of Business economics and sport management at SRH University in Heidelberg; Koen Schobbers, who will present his experience as a medicine student and an e-sport professional athlete, with a commitment to his studies and a career in the gaming industry.
There will be plenty of opportunities for physical activity and competition during the Forum: in addition to active breaks, the participants will also have the chance to join a treasure hunt through the streets of Trento (for the Asbjørn Cup) and the many morning workouts.
One of the networking activities planned for the guests involves the University Choir: the guests can improve their music skills with the choir director, professor Marco Gozzi, while rehearsing the piece "Le Dolomiti".
Student volunteers will play a vital role in the organization of the event. UniTrento Sport launched a special programme to give them the opportunity to be part of the organizing team to help out in different moments during the forum: they will assist trainers at the workouts, welcome guests and take them to guided tours of the city, provide support in the treasure hunt, give directions, and ensure the proper coordination of the conference sessions. Ermanna Marchetti, head of event management and contact person at the Centro Universitario Sportivo (CUS), is enthusiastic about the programme: "I am very happy to encourage this programme because it will have positive effects in a wider context in the long term: these volunteers will be precious in the organization of the ENAS forum but will also be involved in other activities that will be jointly organized in the future by CUS and the University".
The Forum will end on 7 November with a gala dinner followed by a prize draw and a charity auction. The members of ENAS care a lot about these final activities, because of their great social importance. The amount raised will be donated to Fondazione Famiglia Materna, a century-old Italian not-for-profit organization that believes that "people matter more than problems" and whose mission is to help and support women and children in need.
ENAS member universities believe that sport is an important part of university life and that is why they invest in it, recognizing the value of tackling challenges that our society has to face as our civilization advances.
The main objective of the meeting is therefore to start and encourage a discussion on digitization, a process that involves many areas of people's life, including their sport life. Digitization is involved in physical activity and sport in different ways and with different consequences: management and organization, monitoring and self-monitoring, gamification and e-sports, communication, employability.
These and other themes will be the focus of the forum.

Underlined professor Paolo Bouquet, Rector's delegate for sport, who added: "I am happy that the University of Trento is the first in Italy to host ENAS's Forum & Assembly and I would like to thank Elisabetta Nones and her team for achieving this important goal. This is a further confirmation of the great work that our University has been doing for years so that university sport is not just a (useful) pastime, but also a strategic instrument to cooperate with local entities, to encourage the development of soft skills, to start new cross-sector projects, to improve the employability of our graduates and stimulate entrepreneurship”.
