“Guidance week to the university choice” is back

From August 24 till August 28, the second edition of the Guidance week to the university choiceis back in Bolzano

The initiative promoted  jointly by the University of Trento and the University of Bolzano will offer to one hundred students of the last year of high school, a program of awareness in view of the choice of the university which they will undertake at the end of the next school year; the candidacies will be selected from students coming from all over Italy.

To one hundred of these students, especially motivated and eager to have a first taste of university life, the university guidance week will get them to know the region where they might be living during the years taking them to their degree.

Starting Monday 24, till Friday 28, first in Bolzano and then in Trento, to light up the week there will be classes with university professors, meetings with exponents of professions and culture, learning activities, and also informal events. The objective: to familiarise with the university teaching methods, to know the didactic offer of the two Universities closely through classes ranging from physics to design, from neurosciences to international legislation and also opening to the comprehension of the culture and complexity or our times. And then theatre performances, visits to the Trento MUSE and at the Messner Mountain Museum of Bolzano. There also will be classes in English language and  meetings with guidance students of both universities.

The selection, closed at the end of June, has begun from the Italian secondary institutes which notified the most outstanding students of the before last year. Among all candidacies, the two universities selected about one hundred students, chosen on their school results and an overall profile evaluation regarding their study interests, extra curricular activities, language skills and motivation to participate to the initiative.

Nine of the students come from the Trentino Alto Adige region, the greater number comes from Veneto (40 students). A good share comes from Lombardia (12), and also from the Center-South regions, specifically Lazio (8) and Puglia (10).

The students admitted to the “Guidance week to the university choice” will bear the travel costs and will have to contribute 100 euros individually; food and lodging will be free of charge.
