The University of Trento offers to its students many courses dealing with European Institutions, and in the city itself there are several associations which study themes related to the European Union.
In order to stimulate a debate where students are involved in person and not just spectators, a group of students in collaboration with the Jean Monnet Centre and the Fondazione Trentina Alcide De Gasperi, is organizing a simulation of the European decisional process, an event reserved to the students of the University of Trento which follows the guidelines of the Model European Union.
Considering the interdisciplinary features of the event and the interest to involve lots of young students who are interested in European policies, the simulation is open not only to students attending the Faculties and Departments of Law, Economics and Sociology, but also to students from all the other Faculties and Departments.
In addition to the didactic side of the simulation, you will find other activities to stimulate networking between students. This is the reason why MEU Trento is a perfect opportunity to meet other students during a buffet and to know the history of Alcide De Gasperi, one of the founding fathers of Europe.
The simulation takes place from 10 to 13 November, at the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Trento.
- The opening ceremony takes place Thursday evening, when the MEU format will be introduced and explained. A panel discussion about a topical theme or related to the proposals will be held.
- Friday and Saturday will be dedicated to the discussion of the proposals made by the Commission, alternately in the Parliament and in the Council.
- On Sunday, there will be a visit to the Museums Casa De Gasperi and Per Via in Pieve Tesino, with the collaboration of the Casa De Gasperi Foundation.
You can enroll to this simulation until 9th October 2016, whereas if you want to enroll to the roles of President / Vice president you will have to send your request until 25th September.
