UniTrento for inclusion

International Day of Disabled Persons
3 December 2020

The message will be recorded and made available on the University's YouTube channel.

Message from Paolo Macchi, Rector’s delegate for disability, specific learning disabilities and special needs.

On the occasion of the International Day of Disabled Persons, established in 1981 to promote the rights and wellbeing of people with a disability, the University of Trento will disseminate a message by Paolo Macchi – Rector’s delegate for disability, specific learning disabilities and special needs – to embrace inclusion as a fundamental value, to respect diversity in all its forms.

Inclusion facilitates personal growth, socialization, mutual knowledge and respect for other people's views and opinions.

Believing in these values, the University is committed to eliminate physical and cultural barriers to ensure that everyone can fully and equally participate in university life and in cultural and social events, join the labour market, and enjoy free time.

Universities can play a key role to achieve these goals within the academic community, but they can also be drivers for change in the way we see disability, through a better approach to teaching and better course content, and through research and innovation in multiple disciplinary areas.

The message from Paolo Macchi will be followed by three videos made with some students of UniTrento to tell about their life and study experience.
