Title

  • A researcher's guide to pre-registrations and registered reports

Abstract

In recent years several solutions have been proposed to incentivise the output of high-quality research. This hands-on talk attempts to shed some light on tools like pre-registrations, pre-prints, and registered reports, particularly focusing on their different purposes and limitations. Based on practical examples, I will describe the step-by-step process for submitting a pre-registration and a registered report. The talk will conclude by describing the integration between registered and exploratory analyses.
