From October 22 to 25 it will be held the third edition of DIGITALmeet, the biggest event of the Triveneto mainly dedicated to digital literacy to citizens and businesses: more than 70 events in four days, with more than 150 speakers, to invade the city with a digital culture finally available to everyone, a great effort to assert a different web culture, communications and the digital in our territories (DIGITALmeet disseminates its events in Veneto, Trentino, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Carinthia, Slovenia, Croatia), to show how the digital "changes life and the economy", promoted by the Fondazione Comunica and Talent Garden Padova, in collaboration with Talent Garden Pordenone.

The Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science participates in DIGITALmeet with two events:

Coder Dojo Master will be held on Thursday 22 October from 16.00 to 18.00 in the Garda Room, Polo Scientifico e Tecnologico "Fabio Ferrari", via Sommarive 5, Povo (Trento).

The workshop is aimed at high school students who are interested in technology, particularly for programming and for the structure of the software that are carried out every day on various types of devices.

The meeting will be held by students of the University of Trento that, as a mentor, provide their time and their knowledge with regard to accompany the girls and boys in the process of coding, Website Development, mobile app, games and much more. The arguments put forward are the fundamentals of programming (Python), programming for the Web (HTML5, CSS and JS) and gaming (primarily Construct but also Gdevelop, Unity).

Coder Dojo, which will take place on October 24 from 14.30 to 16.30 at the Ofek Room, Polo Scientifico e Tecnologico "Fabio Ferrari", via Sommarive 5, Povo (Trento).

CoderDojo movement is a non-profit organization born in Ireland in 2011 with more than 300 computer clubs volunteers worldwide. Aimed at children and adolescents, it has the aim of organizing free meetings to allow them to familiarize themselves and learn about the tools of information technology.

Participation is free and open to anyone, it is enough:

  • to have between 7 and 17 years
  • to enroll in the registration link or email: coderdojo.trento [at] gmail.com  
  • for children under 13 is required the presence of a parent or accompanying adult
  • it is necessary to bring your PC (the workshop is held mode BYOD = bring your own device)
