The University of Trento has received many academic awards, but this time it is its administration to receive recognition: its general director, Alex Pellacani, is now a member of the Executive Committee of HUMANE (Heads of University Management & Administration Network in Europe).
The international association aims to build networks among universities' managements in Europe and to promote innovation in higher education services. The association also promotes the development of highly qualified professional skills in the management of institutions that, like universities, provide higher and continuing education.
The University of Trento is one of the 18 Italian members of the association.
For two years Alex Pellacani will represent Italy but also France, Belgium and Luxembourg. His candidacy has been supported unanimously by all the universities of the association, as required by the election regulations, but also by the representatives of the other countries.
The news of the appointment was given on the occasion of the General Assembly that was held at the University of Lisbon, where the attendees discussed the challenges that universities will have to face, including from the point of view of administrative management. These include, first of all, the digitization of processes, the provision of education through technologies, the use of artificial intelligence in education.
Other topics on the agenda were sustainability and how to design and manage campuses and university facilities taking into account the well-being of users and the impact on the environment.
