2024 Euregio Young Researcher Award: applications now open

Applications are now open for the 2024 edition of the Euregio Young Researcher Award, sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce of Euregio Tyrol- South Tyrol -Trentino.

This year's theme will be "Artificial Intelligence in the Euregio", and applicants are required to submit works focusing on it by choosing from a wide range of perspectives: from ethical and administrative aspects, to application areas such as mobility, education and assistance.

Applications are welcome from researchers under the age of 35 (born after 16 August 1989) who can submit scientific contributions on the theme "Artificial Intelligence in the Euregio". Applicants must come from universities and research institutes in the Euregio region, or originate from the Euregio region but employed in universities and research institutes abroad.

The young researchers wishing to participate must submit their contributions in English by 15 May 2024 through the online application form.

The contributions must fall into one of the following research areas:

Category 1: Economics, Social sciences, Law, Education and Humanities
Category 2: Technical sciences
Category 3: Natural sciences and Medicine

A jury led by Ulrike Tappeiner, president of the Free University of Bolzano, will select the best projects by 23 June 2024. The authors of the selected projects will be invited to present their work on Saturday 17 August 2024 on the occasion of the Tyrol Days at the European Forum in Alpbach. The finalists will be reimbursed for their travel expenses to Alpbach, as well as their stay on site (for a max. of two nights).

The winning project will receive 5,000 euro. The second and third placed will receive 2,500 and 1,000 euro respectively. The awarding ceremony will take place in Alpbach on Saturday 17 August 2024.
