The University of Trento in top position for composite materials

Award to Andrea Dorigato, researcher at the Department of Industrial engineering

Andrea Dorigato was awarded the prize “ESCM Award 2014” as best young European researcher (under 35) in the field of composite materials. The prize was awarded during the biannual conference of the European Society for Composite Materials (ESCM).

He was first a PhD , then post-doc and finally researcher at the  Department of Industrial engineering of the University of Trento, showing great talent in the research activity regarding composite materials. He received the recognition as best researcher in the academic year 2009-2010. His activities, supervised by Alessandro Pegoretti, who teaches of Science and Technology of Materials, mainly focus on nanocomposites with polymer matrix and polymers, and composite materials for sustainable development.

During the 16th edition fo the European Conference on Composite Materials (ECCM16) held in Seville over the last few days, Andrea Dorigato received his price and held the Albert Cardon lecture: a plenary presentation in front of all participants to the conference.

“The prize is the recognition of the university career of a young talented researcher, trained at the University of Trento. It is also the recognition of the work and studies performed every year at the Department of Industrial engineering”.
